For Undergraduate and Graduate Students
Meet the following criteria:
- Majoring or minoring in gerontology/aging studies and/or related fields
- Enrolled in the second term (or later)
- Undergraduates students must have a grade point average at least 3.3 on a 4.0 scale
- Graduate students must have a grade point average of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale.
To Apply
- Complete the on-line SPO membership form found here.
- Submit payment
- SPO Membership Coordinator will contact your respective chapter advisor to verify your GPA prior to your payment transaction.
- Receive your SPO Membership Certificate and SPO pin to arrive by mail to you or your chapter advisor.
- Enjoy benefits of membership.
For Faculty, alumni, professional, and honorary memberships
The alumni membership includes those who:
- Joined SPO as a student
- Joined SPO after graduation, because SPO membership was not available while they were students
The professional membership includes those who:
- Possess at least a baccalaureate degree
- Did not have a chapter to affiliate with as a student
- Exemplify high standards of professional service within gerontology/aging-related field
To Apply
- Complete the on-line SPO membership form.
- Submit payment.
- SPO Membership Coordinator will contact your respective chapter advisor, where appropriate, will review your application.
- Receive your SPO Membership Certificate and SPO pin to arrive by mail.
