Mixon Ware, PhD
Dr. Ware’s gerontology credentials include a doctorate from the University of Tennessee, and master’s and Graduate Certificate in Gerontology from Florida International University, Miami. She has worked in higher education and human services for 30 years. Professional credentials include Certified Family Life Educator (CFLE) through the National Council on Family Relations, Human Services Board Certified Practitioner (HS-BCP), and Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor. Following retirement from Eastern Kentucky University in 2015, Mixon followed a dream to serve in the U.S. Peace Corps. Following sojourns in Peru, Bolivia, and Mexico, she returned to her home state of Florida, UNretired, and currently enjoys an encore career teaching gerontology online for Concordia University Chicago (CUC).
