Colleen R. Bennett, PhD (c) is a graduate student at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC). She joined SPO as a member in 2009 with the Alpha Sigma Chapter (Marywood University); continuing with the Delta Lambda Chapter (UMBC) in 2010, she was Chapter Vice-President from 2011-2012 and President from 2012-2013. Bennett received her B.A. (Sociology and International Relations) from the State University of New York (SUNY), College at Geneseo, her M.S. (Gerontology) at Marywood University, her M.A. (Applied Sociology) at UMBC, and is a PhD candidate in Gerontology at UMBC. Bennett is also active on AGHE’s Student Committee (serving as Chair from 2013-2014), and the K-12 Committee (Jr. Co-Chair 2014-2015, Sr. Co-Chair 2015-2016).
Her research interests include LGBT aging, and sexual health and sexuality across the life course.
