Sigma Phi Omega
National academic honor and professional society in gerontology since 1980
Sigma Phi Omega recognizes contributions made to undergraduate and graduate education experiences and the contributions of professional members to the well-being of older adults through the following awards:

President's Award
Sigma Phi Omega's President's Award was initiated in 2005 to recognize outstanding SPO student presentation submissions at the annual AGHE meeting. Sigma Phi Omega presented the first annual President's Award at the 2006 AGHE Annual Meeting. Students may submit their paper through AGHE’s annual call for papers.  Papers are reviewed by the SPO award committee.  Deadlines may be found in AGHE’s annual call for papers.

The SPO President's Award is funded solely by donations from SPO members and other interested parties. Anticipating the SPO President's Award will be offered for years to come, we appreciate your generous donations toward recognizing outstanding, 'up-and-coming' students in gerontology. We need your support! Initially we recommended a $25 donation in recognition of SPO's 25th anniversary, but gladly accept any amount. To contribute to this worthwhile cause, mail your check made payable to Sigma Phi Omega and note
